Chennai-born and U.S.-based, Vinod Krishnan began his Carnatic training at age four under the tutelage of his mother Usha Krishnan, and maternal grandmother Rugmini Balasubramanim. He then received advanced training from Padma Shri Neyveli R. Santhanagopalan, and Padma Bhushan Madurai T.N. Seshagopalan, and Madurai R. Sundar. Today, he bridges centuries-old South Indian classical music with contemporary genres — from viral EDM thillanas to performances at the United Nations.
